Introduction to New Media - google earth http://machines.kfitz.info.51-2007/taxonomy/term/145/0 en google earth thinks we go to 'pamona' http://machines.kfitz.info.51-2007/node/222
So I noticed a HUGE mistake on Google-Earth . . . they've spelled 'Pomona' College Pamona. Hmmm. (Type in an on-campus address and then zoom in to see the mistake for yourself).

How do I contact them to let someone know they are sorely mistaken?? Interesting. I thought they would have gotten that one right.
http://machines.kfitz.info.51-2007/node/222#comments google earth Tue, 17 Apr 2007 02:39:40 +0000 ColoradoGirl 222 at http://machines.kfitz.info.51-2007 More on Darfur http://machines.kfitz.info.51-2007/node/214
So to add on to our discussions on google earth/maps and Darfur I've got a link to an article about Google's attempt to publicize the genocide in Darfur by featuring images of destroyed villages and farms etc, Google in Darfur.

I know the first thing we think of when we talk about satellite imaging systems is that these things can be used for "EVIL". I'd still agree with that sentiment, however is it not good that the word on Darfur can be spread through powerful images?

Still, I don't think we can be too quick to say that Google knows what it's playing with.

http://machines.kfitz.info.51-2007/node/214#comments darfur google earth Wed, 11 Apr 2007 20:29:56 +0000 BenManTheEvil 214 at http://machines.kfitz.info.51-2007
