I didn't quite understand how a "masterpiece" could be written on "Political Theology" until I re-read "Political Theology" a couple of times and realized "Political Theology" is not political theory. (See how I repeated political theology a bunch there so you could see the difference ;) )(I feel like thats a very postmodern joke the, "See what I did there" when its obvious what you just did. Its a very self referential type joke, a joke that knows its a joke and is therefore funny. I like this analysis stuff even if it is kinda wishy washy and at some points ridiculous - I did just analyze a joke in the midst of a post on "Political Theology") The biggest difference in the two phrases is the connotation and imagery associated with theology, a religious aspect to the undertaking. Politics can't be a religion, can it? Capitalism? Maybe. House MD? Maybe? Dexter? Quite possibly. (For those of you who haven't seen it yet should definately watch Dexter. It's a TV show about a serial killer that kills serial killers, good stuff). Any time politics begins to morph into religion I feel we should begin to worry and thats why the whole idea of blending the homo sacer with the sovereign seems kind of problematic to me. Any thoughts? (I like this little 'any thoughts' line at the end. Hopefully someone will reply just to answer it even though everything I had written prior to it is potential bullshit and a waste of time -- I derive my self esteem by how many replies I get, so I do whatever it takes)
PS - This stuff all happens on page 81 and there abouts...
